British Ambassador inaugurated direct airline service between Tbilisi and London

On June 5 Ambassador Justin McKenzie Smith joined Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili at a launch of direct flights between Tbilisi and London.

Georgian Airways is a first Georgian airline to fly direct to the UK. London and Tbilisi haven't had direct flights since 2013

Ambassador started off by thanking the Prime Minister and all our friends in Georgia for the many messages of support we have received following the terror attacks in London on Saturday. He also spoke about the importance of direct flights and the impact they will have on bringing UK and Georgia closer:

"London is open. And I am absolutely delighted that direct flights between Tbilisi and London will mean more people travelling between our two countries to do business, to study, to visit, to work and to enjoy themselves. Without question, these flights will bring Georgia and the UK closer" -said Justin McKenzie Smith.
